Fast and Friendly Specialized Service

We specialize in the manufacture of dry pigment blends for the Cultured Marble Industry, and moisture is an important factor affecting how pigments perform.  Because of that at BroCom we do something that few other color manufacturers take the time to do. We dry all our pigments during processing, and then we apply a special surface treatment that actually seals their surface and helps protect them from absorbing any future moisture.  Our proprietary surface treatment is 100% compatible with the resin, even to the point that it actually promotes pigment "wet out" in your finished part, improving dispersion and further eliminating any possibility of color flairs and specks!

We Use The Safest Pigments Possible !

And that means No Lead Pigments! We wouldn't think of subjecting you or your employees to toxic chemicals!  We use the safest pigments available to do the job and most of the pigments we use can be classified as simple "nuisance dusts".  If and when new information becomes available and the safety classifications of our current raw materials change, be assured that we do whatever is necessary to keep our safety classification.  Fortunately we've only had to discontinue three raw materials from our "user friendly" formulas in the last fifteen years due to classification changes.

We Offer Free Custom Color Matching !

Our catalog of "stock colors" contains color matches to almost every major bathroom color in active use today.  We have  matches to all the standard colors offered by Kohler©, American Standard©, Eljer© and Universal Rundle©.  If you have your own series of proprietary colors however, we would be happy to match your existing colors to your specifications.  We never charge for color formulation lab work. We also have our own software - the "BroCom Color Selector" which you can get for free with a $100 order. Simply click on the "Custom Color Selection Software" link at the top or bottom of this page.

Wait Until You See Our Color Catalog !

We produce a catalog of removable color chips that represent the ninety most popular colors from such companies as Kohler®, American Standard®, Eljer® and Universal Rundle®. As a service to our customers, we produce this visual color catalog in our lab and we offer it to our customers for $25 each, (which is less than they cost to produce). When you buy your first catalog, it will contain a certificate worth $25 off your first $100 color purchase, which essentially means that you've gotten the catalog for free. If you are in a hurry, you can simply order $100 of color, and we'll send a free catalog out with your order. (One free catalog per customer please.)

Other color competitors try to imitate our color catalog but none succeed.  Many marble shops buy extra catalogs to give to builders and contractors in their area, who then use the catalogs as a color selection guide when building new custom homes. Our customers tell us that our catalog is often their best salesman, working twenty four hours a day and continually generating new business that comes directly to them instead of their competitors.

Pigment Packaging

Designed For Your Industry !

Thecarton2Cc.gif (19597 bytes) largest single "unit" of pigment we produce for marble shops is a five pound heat sealed waterproof container. We also offer an smaller one pound container.

Some of our competitors continue to offer their color in large fifty pound pails, even though this approach has proven to have several serious drawbacks. First, your mixer operator may not always tell you when they're reaching the bottom of one of these fifty pound buckets, until one day they open it up only to discover they're out of color. No one can tell by simply looking at a fifty pound pail on the floor whether it's full or empty. When this happens you have to leap into action to get more color before your production line grinds to a halt.

That's one reason we decided to do things differently at BroCom. Our colors are all prepackaged in five pound, and one pound cartons.

We've been in a lot of marble shops and we know that in most marble shops it's easier to "control" your inventory of color pigment if your production mixer only gets and uses one five pound carton at a time.  Using this simple approach, you can place all the remaining five pound cartons on a shelf in plain view where the mixer operator can easily see how many cartons are left. When you've gotten down to just a couple of cartons left on the shelf, you will know it's time to reorder, and you can place an order in a timely fashion. Wouldn't it be nice to never run out of color?

Also, there's the problem of contamination. Have you ever seen your people weigh up pigment with dirty hands or contaminated gloves?  Do they ever grind down or buff out a piece of marble around your pigment containers? It's pretty easy to "contaminate" an open fifty pound pail of Bone pigment, and when it gets contaminated you've lost a lot of money. Contamination is much less likely when you only open up one five pound carton at a time, and the rest of your color is setting on the shelf - sealed in its own individual airtight container.

Finally, there's the moisture problem. Open pails of pigment will absorb humidity out of the atmosphere, and any water the pigment absorbs can end up causing color streaks, flairs and overall poor color dispersion in your parts. Surface moisture is what makes dry pigment tend to "lump up" in the first place. A good way to understand this is to visualize what happens to your automobile windshield on a rainy day. As drops of water land on the glass, the surface tension of each bead of water causes it to join together into much larger beads as they come into contact with each other. Water acts pretty much the same way in your mix. If the dry pigment you're using has absorbed moisture then the individual pigment particles will tend to stick together when they come into contact with each other in your mix. This can contribute to the formation of large color agglomerates or specks. Keeping the pigment sealed and away from the humidity eliminates a lot of these type problems.

Try just one pound of our surface treated "ATH" pigment series and judge for yourself............
